Church in the outdoors

We were able to continue meeting today because we have a great outdoor area with plenty of room, allowing for correct social distancing requirements. Guest speaker was Dan Leister (https://www.afes.org.au/profile/dan-leister) from Evangelical Students at University of Queensland.

Musical accompaniment provided by a flautist. Being away from the road it was quiet, allowing us to hear since we always have contributions from the group as well as from the front. 1 Corinthians 14:26 “When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.”

The Bible talk was from 1 Peter 1:3-2:3. We are born again to a loving hope. This hope comes to us because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is certain—we have an inheritance kept in heaven for us. It is safe but we don’t have it now.

Now, for a little while, we have trials.

We may have suffering now but we have a sure glory later.

Because we have been born again, now we need to have a life of love for one another, putting away sinful behaviour.
